Certificate of Analysis — Frequently Asked Questions
Why is every batch independently tested?
Every batch is sent to an independent analytical laboratory before release. Testing confirms identity and purity without relying on in-house claims, which gives researchers an objective record they can match against the vial label.
How do I read the HPLC chromatogram?
HPLC separates the components of a sample as it passes through a column. On the chromatogram, look for one dominant, sharp peak on a flat baseline. A clean main peak with no significant secondary bumps indicates high purity with little to no detectable impurities or degradation byproducts.
How do I read the mass spectrometry chart?
Mass spectrometry confirms the exact molecular identity of the compound. The tallest signal on the chart corresponds to the primary mass-to-charge ratio (m/z), which should closely match the theoretical molecular weight of the target peptide. A confirmed match proves you received the compound stated on the label.
Are the quantities per vial exactly as stated on the label?
Each vial is filled to the labeled quantity of lyophilized peptide. Quantitative HPLC analysis on the certificate reports the analyzed amount for the tested batch, so you can verify the delivered quantity against the specification.
How frequently are batches tested?
Every new production batch is quarantined immediately after synthesis and a sample is sent for independent analysis. The batch is only released after the certificate confirms the stated purity standard, typically 99% or higher by HPLC.
What does “white lyophilized powder” mean?
Lyophilization (freeze-drying) removes water from the peptide under vacuum, leaving a stable powder that remains viable during shipping and long-term storage before reconstitution. The powder is typically white or off-white in appearance.
Why do vials of the same mg look different in volume?
Peptides are filled without heavy bulking fillers, so the physical volume of powder in a vial does not correlate with milligram weight. A dense 10mg fill can occupy less volume than a fluffier 5mg fill. Quantitative HPLC is the accurate measure of delivered quantity.
Are these products approved for human consumption?
No. All products on this site are strictly for laboratory, in-vitro, and scientific research use only. They are not approved for human consumption, diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical use, and are not for veterinary use.
